Italy were extremely disappointing as they crashed out of the Confederations Cup, being defeated 3-0 by Brazil in Pretoria.

One of the few bright spots in the tournament was Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi, who scored two goals against the United States in the Azzurri's opening match in a substitute appearance, but he did not have the same impact against the Selecao.

The 22-year-old briefly spoke to Goal.com following the heavy loss to the South Americans and admits his side were found wanting in many areas, but hopes that they will adapt in the future.

"It was a disappointing performance and a disappointing tournament for us," he sighed.

"We have to take it on the chin and learn from this. We will bounce back as a better team."

Rossi also had a very good season with Villarreal, bagging 15 goals in all competitions this past campaign. He is expected to remain a key figure for La Nazionale in the future, even if some of his team-mates may not be so lucky after their tournament exit.
