Police threw rocks at suspected militants’ hideout

Anti-terror police forces surrounded a house in Temanggung, Central Java, believed to be the hideout of fugitive terror suspect Noordin M. Top, Saturday early morning.

The police forces initially fired gunshots at the house at Beji village, Kedu sub-district, but no response from inside, and then, they threw rocks at the house from all corners, causing the house’s roof falling.

But still, no one came out from the house.

The police believed Noordin, with one or two of his men were inside the house, which belongs to Muzaeri.






Hundreds of locals flocked to the area and witnessed the police's operation from a distance, from a tobacco plantation nearby.

Police sources said that the police came to the house based on information collected from a number of people they arrested earlier on Friday.

The police arrested Wawan Setiawan at Tanjungsari village, Tlogomulya subdistrict, in Temanggung. Wawan, arrested at about 11 a.m. Friday, is a resident of Pandeglang, Banten.

Later in the day, the police arrested Aris Ma'ruf and Fendi in Kedu subdistrict, also in Temanggung.

Based on the information from those arrested suspects, the police surrounded Muzaeri's house.
